Providing Extra Capacity

A utility consulting group found itself
with insufficient capacity to write and publish a number of newsletters
and industry bulletins that it had promised clients. Capitalizing
on BRC’s background
in business journalism and investigative reporting, the group retained
us to do basic research, interview industry leaders and produce
copy for several editions of the periodicals. Over a six-month
period we were able to produce in-depth authoritative articles
on topics ranging from the potential of distributed generation
to the likely effects of new government anti-pollution mandates.
Refining PR Activities

A Boston-area technology company needed help
maintaining a bold, innovative communications program as it moved
from R&D to commercial
operations. In a six-month engagement, Boston Research & Communications,
Inc. reviewed the company's public relations activities, met with
executives and spoke to editors where the company had operations.
We served as a catalyst, helped to calibrate key messages, provided
an outsider's market perspective and recommended specific initiatives
to achieve national and regional communications needs.
Attracting Media Attention

A graduate business school was having trouble
obtaining media attention for its innovative certificate and professional
development programs. BR&C was engaged to help the college's
leadership determine its communications goals. We developed a communications
strategy. And we cultivated relationships with the regional media.
The result was a significant rise in local newspaper coverage,
including a major news feature, an Op-Ed piece by the college president
and repeated placements in educational supplements. We also won
major market coverage for conferences held outside the school's
home region.
